On April 28, 2015, a grand celebration, hosted by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to mark the arrival of the “May 1” International Labor Day. All the seven Chinese top leaders attended it and Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered keynote speech.

At the grand celebration, about 3000 outstanding workers from all walks of life were awarded either the title of “Model Worker” or the title of “Exemplary Individual”, which were two of the highest of ranking titles for the working people in China. Sun Jianen, chief electric engineer of the equipment engineering department of Triangle Group, was awarded the title of “Model Worker” of China. It was the second time in China since 1949 for the outstanding workers to be awarded either the title of “Model Worker” or the title of “Exemplary Individual”, with the very aim of upholding the spirit of model workers, promoting the value of work, and celebrating the great character of working people.
