Triangle Tyre Earns CAAC CTSOA Certification

On May 11, 2026, the civil aviation radial tires independently developed by Triangle Tyre successfully passed the review of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and were awarded the China Civil Aviation Technical Standard Order Authorization (CTSOA), backed by exceptional performance throughout the process and across all elements.

CTSOA serves as the CAAC’s official approval for the design and production of aviation components. The award of CTSOA certification signifies that the certificate holder has successfully passed the authority’s “design and production conformity review”, earning the qualifications to design and manufacture the certified products, along with the authorization to mark them with the corresponding CTSO identification numbers.

The CTSOA certification awarded to Triangle Tyre covers four part numbers of civil aviation radial tires, specifically developed for leading aircraft models, including China’s domestically produced large passenger jet C919 and the Airbus A320.

As critical safety components, aviation tires are among the most technologically demanding products in the aviation industry, subject to exceptionally stringent review standards and lengthy approval processes. The CAAC’s certification process involves comprehensive on-site oversight across manufacturing, testing, and other critical stages, requiring passing of a series of rigorous evaluations, including static load testing, high-speed rolling tests, and extreme-temperature performance assessments, while demonstrating super-high professional capabilities in core areas such as material, design, process, equipment, simulation, and quality control.

[Aviation Tire Milestones]

In October 2014, Triangle Tyre completed splash simulation analysis for tires for the COMAC ARJ21 regional aircraft (now C909), helping pave the way for the aircraft’s all-weather airworthiness certification.

In 2019, Triangle Tyre further expanded cooperation with COMAC, undertaking the research on numerical simulation models for the dynamic characteristics of main tires for the C919 aircraft.

In April 2019, the Triangle aviation tire project received approval support under Shandong Province’s Major Program for New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion.

In October 2019, the “Large Aircraft Ground Dynamics Joint Laboratory”, initiated by COMAC, was established in Changsha, with Triangle undertaking the research on the “Tire Ground Dynamics” program.

In July 2020, Triangle’s independently developed 30×8.8R15 aviation tire passed dynamic simulation testing in Xianyang, becoming the first civil aviation radial tire product in China to achieve this milestone.

In September 2020, Triangle Tyre’s aviation tire laboratory, with an investment exceeding RMB 50 million, was completed and put into operation in Weihai.

In August 2021, Triangle Tyre built a full civil aviation radial tire production line in Weihai, passing project acceptance and establishing large-scale manufacturing capability.

In September 2022, the Triangle aviation radial tire project was awarded the Gold Award at the 4th “Governor’s Cup” Industrial Design Competition.

In May 2026, Triangle’s civil aviation radial tires passed the CAAC review and were awarded the CTSOA certification.
